Because the system is "closed" to the air, the treatment is completely odourless, and the client remains covered and comfortable throughout.

Clinical Control vs. Passive Release

While "open" systems require the client to push and release waste themselves (often into an open basin), the closed system allows Virginia to stay by your side. This allows for:

• Abdominal Massage: Manual techniques to help stimulate the colon's natural peristalsis.

• Temperature Modulation: Switching between slightly warm and cool water to "exercise" the bowel wall.

A typical treatment lasts between 35 and 45 minutes, which is the clinical "gold standard".

As the water gently fills the bowel, you may experience a "bizarre" sensation or slight cramping—this is a sign that the colon is contracting to move stagnant waste toward evacuation.
